I believe in the resiliency of of the human spirit. To be alive is to encounter problems in living. Everyone needs support or help at some point in their lives. My mission is to help people see that no matter how bad the situation, problem or loss, there is a way to recover. I believe self-compassion and care is at the root of that recovery. My goal is to provide a comfortable environment conducive to growing through the difficulties life sends our way.
I work with adults and couples with a range of issues. I have a lot of experience working with men experiencing relationship problems at home and work. I also have an interest in helping people who have experienced trauma. I utilize trauma informed approaches and I am an EMDR trained therapist. I have 39 years of experience in the counseling field. I am a statewide speaker for companies and organizations, presenting on topics such as: stress management, balancing work and family, communication, teamwork and management skills. I have worked as an onsite Employee Assistance consultant throughout my career for several corporations in the central Virginia region.
